첸치아이(Chia-Yi, Chen)는 2019년 국립타이완예술대학교 멀티미디어애니메이션예술과에서 뉴미디어아트 전공으로 석사 학위를 취득했다. 그녀의 작업은 인간과 환경, 그리고 시간의 미묘한 변화 사이에서 형성되는 관계에 주목한다. 환경에 대한 리서치를 바탕으로 공간을 재구성하고, 멀티미디어 레디메이드를 활용해 이미지를 새로운 서사로 전환함으로써 세계를 바라보는 또 다른 시각을 제안한다. 이러한 작업은 내면의 감정과 잠재된 의식의 흐름을 포착하려는 사유적 탐구로 이어지며, 관찰과 사유가 결합된 독자적인 예술 언어를 형성한다.
Soulangh Cultural Park 레지던시를 비롯해, 2024년 베를린 베타니엔(Künstlerhaus Bethanien) 레지던시 프로그램 등에 참여하며 활발한 창작 활동을 이어오고 있다. 다수의 개인전 및 그룹전에 참여해왔으며, 대만 국립미술전 뉴미디어아트 부문 은상, ART FUTURE PRIZE Asian new Star Award 등 여러 차례 수상했다. 그녀의 작품은 대만 국립미술관(Taiwan Museum of Art)에도 소장되어 있다.
2019年畢業於國立臺灣藝術大學多媒體動畫藝術學系新媒體藝術碩士學位。
創作主題多關注在人面對環境與生命的關係，以及時間性的細微變化。擅長結合環境調研與複合媒體現成物，重塑空間；並透過影像轉化，呈現另一種觀看世界的敘事方式。創作融入個人內在情感與潛藏的意識流動，成為思考與表達的延伸。獲選文化部選送文化相關人才出國駐村交流計畫補助（德國貝塔寧藝術村）、蕭壠國際藝術村駐村計畫，豐富的個展和聯展經驗。曾獲《全國美術展-新媒體藝術類，銀牌獎》、《ART FUTURE PRIZE 亞洲新星獎-首獎》等，作品並收藏於有章藝術博物館。
Chia-Yi, Chen graduated in 2019 with a Master’s degree in New Media Arts from the Department of Multimedia and Animation Arts at the National Taiwan University of Arts. Her work primarily explores the relationship between humans, the environment, and the subtle changes of time. She specializes in reshaping space through environmental research and integrating multimedia readymades, transforming images into alternative narratives that present new ways of viewing the world. Her creative approach extends into reflective thinking, capturing inner emotions and the latent flow of consciousness. Chia-Yi, Chen has participated in numerous residency programs, including the Soulangh Cultural Park Artist Residency and the prestigious Künstlerhaus Bethanien Residency in Berlin, Germany, in 2024. She has an extensive portfolio of solo and group exhibitions and has received numerous accolades, including the "National Art Exhibition - Silver Medal in New Media Art" and the "ART FUTURE PRIZE Asian New Star Award - First Prize". Her works are also part of the collection at the Taiwan Museum of Art.
《The Unknown》 시리즈는 시간의 축을 따라 진행되며, 동일한 도시 건설 현장에 지속적으로 초점을 맞춘다. 각 변모 단계에서 작가는 영상, 설치, 현지 재료의 변환을 통해 장소 기억의 중첩과 분열을 세밀하게 기록하고 재구성하고, 시리즈 전체는 인공과 자연이 교차하는 공간 속에서 인간이 일시적으로 자리 잡고, 끊임없이 유동하며, 소속감에 대한 모호한 상태를 심도 있게 묘사한다. 시간을 인식하는 방식, 땅의 변화, 몸의 개입 사이에서 일어나는 긴장과 충돌이 작업의 핵심을 이룬다.
《未知》系列此後的創作實踐，皆循時間軸線推進，持續聚焦於同一都市工地場域。在歷經各階段的變遷過程中，藝術家透過影像、裝置與現地材料的轉化，細緻地記錄並重組場域記憶的層疊與裂變。整個系列深刻描繪了人類在人造與自然交錯空間中，那種臨時安置、不斷流動以及對於歸屬感的曖昧狀態。作品的核心關懷始終聚焦於時間感知、地景變異與身體行為之間的錯綜關係。
Subsequent creative practices within the The Unknown series advance along a temporal axis, continuously focusing on the same urban construction site. Throughout its various stages of transformation, the artist meticulously documents and recomposes the layering and fission of site memory through the metamorphosis of images, installations, and on-site materials. The entire series vividly portrays the ambiguous state of temporary settlement, constant flux, and a sense of belonging for individuals within spaces where artificial and natural elements intertwine. The core concern of the works consistently centers on the intricate relationship between temporal perception, landscape mutation, and bodily action.
